FEAST OR FAMINE FEEDING

PRIMARY NUTRIENTS

The Challenges
Many ordinary fertilizers break down too quickly, releasing an over-abundance of nutrients that result in a surge of growth and plant weakness. During the feast, plants are more susceptible to disease and turf will appear burned in hot, humid weather. Besides damaging the turf, plants that are over-fed require more frequent mowing.

Famine occurs when nutrients are withheld or unavailable. The starved turf becomes weak and the color is poor. However, by the time turf color fades, the plant structure has already been damaged from lack of nutrients.

The Solution
LESCO fertilizers solve the feast or famine problem by releasing nutrients slowly and consistently over a longer period of time. As a result, turf is healthier, stronger, and more disease tolerant. Grass is greener and thicker with a more consistent growing pattern.
